Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Thurston County, was honored Tuesday evening by the Washington State Arts Alliance, which named her the recipient of the 2009 Louise Miller Arts Advocacy Award. You can watch her introduction and acceptance speech below.

The award was given at the organization’s annual meeting at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in Olympia. According to the Alliance, the award is “bestowed each year to a public official who has shown outstanding leadership in advancing the arts and arts education on a statewide or national level.”
