If you have a son or daughter who's interested in aerospace, the deadline for Washington Aerospace Scholars is approaching fast. This free, statewide partnership program lets high school juniors explore the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
The first step is to apply by Nov. 6. Student applications are available at http://www.museumofflight.org/washingtonaerospacescholars and should be sent directly to the Museum of Flight. Those accepted will work at the Museum of Flight on online curriculum developed by NASA - the first step in being considered for the six-day summer residency in Seattle.
As many as 160 students may be invited to attend the residency. There is no cost to students, thanks to grants from The Boeing Company, Microsoft, Battelle, the Aldarra Foundation and other donors that cover all expenses from travel to meals and lodging.
