Sen. Karen Keiser and a small group of state lawmakers from around the country are scheduled to meet with President Obama Wednesday to discuss health care reform.

Keiser is on her fourth trip to the nation’s capital to lobby Congress to pass a comprehensive reform plan that improves the current system and gives states the flexibility to expand on existing programs.

“The stakes are high for Washington state, and I want to make sure whatever bill passes reflects our values and allows us to build on current programs that will reduce costs and make the system more efficient,” Keiser said.

Keiser is part of a group of about 30 state legislators from around the country who discuss health care reform each week with White House officials.

Rep. Steve Conway, D-Tacoma, and Rep. Brendan Williams, D-Olympia, are also in DC. Conway is expected to attend the meeting with President Obama.
