MEDIA ADVISORY: State legislators to submit amicus brief in support of health reform law

Olympia - Sen. Karen Keiser, D-Kent, Sen. David Frockt, D-Seattle, Sen Steve Conway, D-Tacoma, Rep. Eileen Cody, D-West Seattle and Rep. Laurie Jinkins, D-Tacoma, will announce their submission of an amicus brief in support of the Affordable Care Act at a press conference Thursday, January 12.

The conference is one of nine of its kind happening in states across the country. To date, Washington legislators represent 19 out of the nearly 400 lawmakers from 48 states who have signed the brief nationwide.

Keiser, Cody and the panel will give remarks regarding the amicus brief and the implications Supreme Court action could have for Washington and take questions from the press.
