Sen. Chris Marr, a Spokane Democrat and vice chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, helped open the first segment of the North Spokane Corridor today. The three-and-a-half mile segment stretches from Freya Avenue to Farwell Road. Additional segments are in the pipeline for a megaproject now six decades in the making.
About 400 showed up for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Check out Marr's speech above.
