Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe and Rep. Al O’Brien invite their constituents to a town hall with Sen. Karen Keiser, chair of the Senate Health & Long-Term Care Committee, and Rep. Eileen Cody, chair of the House Health Care & Wellness Committee. Keiser and Cody will address questions about health care issues and discuss how federal health reform efforts could impact Washington residents.      

“This is a great opportunity for people from our district to gain a real understanding of the direction health care reform proposals are moving,” said McAuliffe.

Health care reform is shaping up to be one of the most important federal public policy issues of our time. Whichever reform proposal Congress passes, it will be up to states to implement the new rules.

“Rising health care costs are hurting everybody,” O’Brien said. “What the feds do, and what we do in Washington state in response to that, will affect every family and business. I believe it’s important that we listen to the people before taking action in Olympia.”

The public meeting will take place Monday, November 30, 6–8 p.m. at the Northshore Senior Center in Bothell (10201 E. Riverside Drive Bothell).
