Sen. Murray, the chair of the budget-writing Senate Ways & Means Committee, issued the following statement regarding the state revenue forecast Wednesday:
"Earlier this year we drew a line against further cuts to education, or the elimination of basic services for hungry, sick or homeless Washingtonians. Today's stable forecast affirms that choice as the right one for Washington.
"Our aerospace and software sectors remain strong, and exports are a positive for our economy. Growth is modest, and risks exist outside our state, such as the fiscal uncertainty in Europe. Even so, each forecast that allows us to maintain the services that support our friends, neighbors and communities is another step toward a full recovery.”
