Sen. Craig Pridemore, D-Vancouver, has been named the new chair of the Legislature’s Joint Legislative Audit & Review Committee (JLARC).
"If there's one thing we’ve learned in these difficult economic times, it's the need to make the most of every dollar," Pridemore said. "Every dollar we save is a dollar that can help pay for public services, which all the more important when you consider the kinds of cuts we’ve had to make to public services in recent years."
JLARC is made up of an equal number of Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate charged with making state government operations more effective, efficient, and accountable. The committee conducts performance audits, program evaluations, sunset reviews, and other analyses.
Pridemore, serving his second term in the Senate since been first elected in 2004, chairs the Senate Government Operations, Tribal Relations & Elections Committee and sits on the Senate Ways & Means Committee and the Senate Health & Long-Term Care Committee.
