OLYMPIA — Today, Sen. Paull H. Shin, D–Edmonds, was honored for the Joint Government Affairs Committee’s (JGAC) Business Champion Award. The Everett Area, South Snohomish County and Monroe Chambers of Commerce recognized Shin at the 2009 Legislative Recognition Breakfast at the Everett Golf & Country Club.

“Economic development is one area I focus on in Olympia,” said Shin. “I believe it is important to support legislation that encourages international trade and equally bills that help locally focused business. Washington has such a diverse business climate, the possibilities are endless.”

Shin scored one hundred percent on the annual legislative scorecard for his work during the 2009 legislative session. Throughout the session, the JGAC tracks the activity of key business bills in Olympia. At the session's conclusion, the JGAC develops a scorecard for the Snohomish County legislators based upon their votes on these key bills. Legislators who vote in favor of JGAC’s position on bills a majority of the time are recognized as business champions.
