Hiring grew last year

A new report shows Washington had both more job vacancies in 2012, including an additional 18,500 openings between the spring and fall.

Also, according to the Employment Security Department: employers reported more than 190,000 external hires during the June through August time period, about 72,000 more than the first quarter of the year.  And the average hourly starting wage across all industries and occupations was $13.48.
