Sen. Brown’s statement on senate’s Democratic majority

Wednesday, November 07 2012 - The Hopper | Permalink

By electing a Democratic majority in the Senate, voters have spoken: the people of Washington share our values, and they want our caucus to stay on course - prioritizing education, creating jobs for the middle class, and protecting folks like working mothers, seniors and the disabled.

Given the challenges of the recession and the reductions in the alternate budget proposed by the Senate Republicans, I am particularly pleased that under Democratic leadership, senators will have an opportunity to continue to help Washingtonians who are working hard and playing by the rules.

Senate Democrats are well-positioned to continue to lead the state. I look forward to watching the efforts of our seasoned members as well as our emerging leaders.
