Thursday, October 27 2011 - Scott White | Permalink

A public memorial service for Sen. Scott White has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, in the Meany Hall Theater on the University of Washington Campus in Seattle.

Meany Hall is located near the intersection of 15th Avenue NE and NE 40th St.

Directions to Meany Hall and information about nearby parking can be found at this link. The closest parking will be in the Central Plaza Underground Garage located beneath Meany Hall. It will be open and free of charge on that date; entrance to the Garage is at the intersection of 15th Avenue NE and NE 41st.

Attendees are urged to carpool in order to minimize parking issues.

Also please note delays around the SR 520 corridor on Nov. 5-7, when the SR 520 floating bridge and highway from Montlake Boulevard in Seattle to I-405 in Bellevue will completely close. Crews will close the westbound lanes starting at 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 and follow with the eastbound lanes at 1 a.m. The floating bridge highway will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes, and detour signs will be posted around the corridor. The most up-to-date SR 520 construction information is available on our Eastside project page, where we also have more information about the closure.
